Meet the Builders Behind Grand Oaks
The Weseman family has been proud to be natives of the Alachua County/North Central Florida area for over 150 years. Gary Weseman graduated from Auburn University from the School of Architecture with a degree in Building Construction. He started the family business in 1976 and has been developing affordable subdivisions and quality homes ever since. William and Michael are the next generations to take up the torch.
Michael Weseman, Master Builder
Michael Weseman is a master builder. From a young age, Michael knew what he wanted to do in life. He got his start in his father Gary Weseman's trusted Gainesville building company, Weseman Builders, and has been working on homes ever since.
Michael studied Building Construction at Santa Fe College, but his most important training came from hands-on work. Learning alongside Gary, Michael has built and remodeled every facet of the modern home.
He founded Weseman Homes & Renovations to carry on the family tradition and break new ground in Gainesville. Michael's firm is still small enough that he can keep up the hands-on approach on which he has built his reputation.
"There is not one house or job that I do not have my hands on the majority of the work," he told Giggle Magazine. That level of craftsmanship and attention to detail -- from flawlessly sealed joints to top-of-the-line finishes -- sets Weseman Homes & Renovations apart.

Wife and managing partner Lauren recalls the first home Michael built and sold. "It was for a young family that was so excited to start their lives in this home," Lauren said. "I will remember him saying what an honor it was to think he played a part in this."
