June is Pride Month — a time to celebrate love, self-expression, and the vibrant LGBTQ+ community. In Gainesville and Alachua County, we’re coming together with an exciting lineup of events filled with music, art, film, and community.

Whether you’re an ally or part of the LGBTQ+ family, these inclusive, welcoming events are open to all. Get ready to shop, dance, laugh, and connect—all while supporting local queer artists, businesses, and nonprofits.

🎨 Kick Off Pride: Queer Makers Market

📍 4th Ave Food Park, Gainesville

Join us for the Queer Makers Market and support LGBTQ+-owned businesses, artists, and creators. It’s a family-friendly way to shop local, enjoy great food, and kick off the month with community pride. Vendor fees benefit the Pride Community Center of North Central Florida.

The Hipp is rolling out a full month of films that spotlight queer voices, stories, and resilience. Don’t miss these powerful screenings:

    🧩 Hosted at The CandE Factory (1125 SE 4th St)
    A relaxed, inclusive space to celebrate Pride. Bracelet-making, fidgets, snacks, and good vibes provided.
    Ages 14+ (minors must be accompanied by a caregiver).

  • June 14 @ 8:30 PM – National Theatre Live: The Importance of Being Earnest (NR)
    A witty classic about double lives and romance.

  • June 20 @ 9:00 PM – Bound (R)
    A cult thriller featuring a bold queer love story.

  • June 28 @ 8:30 PM – A Fantastic Woman (R)
    A touching, award-winning story of love and identity.

  • June 28 (Time TBD) – Hedwig and the Angry Inch (R)
    An electrifying rock musical about a gender-queer punk icon.
