7.Cuban Ingenuity: The Artistry of the Everyday Inventor at the Cade Museum

Through videos, photographs, and objects collected for the Cade throughout Cuba, Cuban Ingenuity highlights the ingenious vision behind dozens of innovations and inventions of necessity. Manufactured products of the mid-20th century, from US automobiles to Soviet-made washing machines, have been repaired and amended, repurposed and redesigned over nearly three generations of Cubans. Objects pieced together for functionality have nonetheless achieved an artistic elegance worthy of this exhibition and appreciation.
8.Free Fridays Concert Series at Bo Diddley

Featuring some of the best local and regional musicians, the 2019 “Free Fridays” Concert Series opens Friday, May 3rd, and plays each Friday night from 8-10 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 25th. The series includes a diverse selection of musical genres, with a mix of returning audience favorites and bands new to the series.
9.Mother’s Day at Kulaqua River Ranch Waterpark

10.In Life Together – Annasemble Orchestra Concert

Annasemble Community Orchestra presents “In Life Together”, a FREE concert May 12th at 4:00 pm for the community. The 2019 Annasemble annual concert focuses on aspects of life ringing through music and its composers. Life’s journey through music will come clear as we travel from Beethoven all the way to Tom Petty. Aspects such as love, pain, tradition and way of life will come forth. Selections include music by Beethoven, Joplin, Petty, McCartney, Shaffy and Tradition from Fiddler on the Roof.
