    It’s Mother’s day weekend in Gainesville, and we’ve done our weekly search to help you surprise your mom with a fun activity, or keep yourself entertained all weekend long.

    1.A Mother’s Day Concert

    May 12 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

    Dance Alive National Ballet presents The Next Generation in A Mother’s Day Concert. The Next Generation is a group of 32 student dancers who present numerous programs and activities for community service projects in support of Dance Alive National Ballet’s mission and programming.

     

    2.University of Florida Gators Baseball vs. Tennessee Volunteers Baseball

    Family friendly fun! Take your mom, grandma, and all your friends to go see America’s favorite pastime.

     

    3.Gainesville Improv Guild Presents Sunday Funday: Mom Edition

    High Dive

    May 12 @ 8:00 pm

    Come join Gainesville Improv Guild and host, Stephanie Norman, celebrate ALL moms this Mother’s Day at High Dive! No need to get a gift as there is nothing better than living in the moment, together!

     

    4.Mothers Day at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens

    FREE May 12 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

    Stroll through the gardens with your Mom!

     

    5.Mothers Day Yoga on the Prairie

    May 10 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

    Give the gift of love and connection on Mother’s Day by practicing calming yoga together.

    Yoga is free with park admission, $6 per vehicle (up to 8 people).

     

    6.Farm to Table Dinner at Swallowtail Farm

    Featuring: Blue Highway

    May 11 @ 5:00 pm – 11:00 pm

    The farm is yours for the night! Enjoy the freshest meal you’ve ever tasted, served by the farmers who’ve grown and raised it. An ode to true food. Cheers!

     

    7.Cuban Ingenuity: The Artistry of the Everyday Inventor at the Cade Museum

    May 12 @ 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

    Through videos, photographs, and objects collected for the Cade throughout Cuba, Cuban Ingenuity highlights the ingenious vision behind dozens of innovations and inventions of necessity. Manufactured products of the mid-20th century, from US automobiles to Soviet-made washing machines, have been repaired and amended, repurposed and redesigned over nearly three generations of Cubans. Objects pieced together for functionality have nonetheless achieved an artistic elegance worthy of this exhibition and appreciation.

     

    8.Free Fridays Concert Series at Bo Diddley

    May 10 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

    Featuring some of the best local and regional musicians, the 2019 “Free Fridays” Concert Series opens Friday, May 3rd, and plays each Friday night from 8-10 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 25th. The series includes a diverse selection of musical genres, with a mix of returning audience favorites and bands new to the series.

     

    9.Mother’s Day at Kulaqua River Ranch Waterpark

    May 12 @ 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

    Kulaqua’s River Ranch is open to the public on select days over the summer! Moms get in FREE on Mother’s Day!

     

    10.In Life Together – Annasemble Orchestra Concert

    May 12 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

    Annasemble Community Orchestra presents “In Life Together”, a FREE concert May 12th at 4:00 pm for the community. The 2019 Annasemble annual concert focuses on aspects of life ringing through music and its composers. Life’s journey through music will come clear as we travel from Beethoven all the way to Tom Petty. Aspects such as love, pain, tradition and way of life will come forth. Selections include music by Beethoven, Joplin, Petty, McCartney, Shaffy and Tradition from Fiddler on the Roof.
