Beaches! The nearest beaches to Cordova Palms are Vilano Beach and South Ponte Vedra Beach. Vilano Beach is known for its sandy Atlantic shoreline, and the fishing pier that disappears on foggy mornings into the slumbering Tolomato River.
South Ponte Vedra Beach is another beautiful beach off A1A that doesn’t gets too crowded. It’s also pet friendly, so bring the entire family!
World Golf Village – World Golf Village is a golfer’s paradise, as the name implies. Both of the golf courses are world class and feature clubhouses with first-rate dining rooms. Home of the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve – Guana Tolomato Matanzas sits at the confluence of the three waterways that make its name such a mouthful. This wildlife preserve offers serene hiking opportunities under a canopy of oak trees. Those who reach the end of the 6-mile trail are rewarded with a gorgeous view of the river.
? HIDDEN GEM Stokes Landing Conservation Area – Part of St. John’s County stormwater management system, this hidden gem features an observation deck and hiking trails. Bring bug spray, watch out for snakes, and enjoy having these ruggedly beautiful Florida wetlands all to yourself.
Castle Otttis – No, that’s not a typo. The “castle” in question is spelled with three t’s. Because it’s that over-the-top. Its creators actually think of it as a landscape sculpture, designed to evoke a medieval Irish abbey. Castle Otttis certainly stands out among the pastel-painted homes along A1A. We challenge you not to pull over and investigate the inspiring edifice for yourself.
