The Weseman Family Story

Grand Oaks of Gainesville is a Weseman Family neighborhood represented by Rabell Realty Group. Gary Weseman, the father and developer of Grand Oaks, started Weseman Construction back in 1976. He graduated from Auburn University’s School of Architecture with a degree in Building Construction, but laid his foundation in Gator Country, where he has been building homes as a Certified General Contractor ever since.

When Gary’s two sons were young, they started working for their father in all aspects of the construction process, mainly focusing on framing, from floor to trusses. Michael Weseman, the younger of the two sons, went on to start his own business, Weseman Homes & Renovations.

Father and son joined forces to build out Newberry Oaks in neighboring Newberry, behind the Canterbury Equestrian Center, which is now known as the Alachua County Agriculture and Equestrian Center.
