Gainesville Is Going Green: GreenMan Festival 2017

Gainesville is focused on going green but what does it mean to be green? Our world’s natural resources are finite and can cause chaos in our atmosphere. Scientists all over the world are bringing awareness to the phenomenon of global warming. Essentially, the gases we release into the air by using natural resources such as oil and coal are allowing our atmosphere to hold in more heat. This could cause our polar ice caps to melt and flood all the land spaces humans and land animals inhabit. This is why people are starting to go green. Being green means to be actively seeking out knowledge and practices that are friendlier to the environment than our current standard. The Going Green movement is not only to help out our environment but is looking out for posterity.

If you’re ready to go green then the GreenMan Festival is for you. On November 25th and 26th from 10am to 5pm, the festival will be held in Depot Park. It is going to be an Art and Craft Fair that has a Green focus and a Green Technology Expo. The food vendors will be vegetarian and there will be live music and entertainment all throughout the park. Tesla and other hybrid/electric car brands are sponsoring this event along with solar energy projects and other Green technologies. If you plan on staying past dark, things will be decked out in holiday lights. This festival is being put on by Vortex Productions
