Grand Oaks is Gainesville’s next great residential community. The development broke ground in 2020. Located across from Oak Hall School with an entrance at Tower Road, it’s a short drive to Celebration Pointe and I-75. The community is being built out in three phases to bring a total of 304 homes to this desirable pocket of SW Gainesville. The 126 homes of Phase I sold out. The 96 homes of Phase 2 are currently being built. Phase 3, about two years away, will bring an additional 80-85 homes.
Grand Oaks homes for sale range in size from 1,700 to 2,200 square feet and start in the high $300k range. Standout features include:
- LVP floors (no carpet)
- 9 foot ceilings
- Quartz counters (kitchen and bath)
- Tiled floors in the bathrooms
- Decorative niches
Grand Oaks amenities include a covered pavilion with a pool and playground. These amenities are open and are being enjoyed by residents.
Michael Weseman is currently offering six spacious floor plans ranging from 3 to 4 bedrooms. Gary Weseman offers two additional floor plans.
The added upgrades, luxury finishes and smart home additions rival other builders in the SW Gainesville market. To see floor plans and learn more, head on over to Rabell Realty’s guide to Grand Oaks.
When fully built out, Grand Oaks will be anchored by a new commercial development with retail, restaurants, a preschool, medical offices, apartments, and more.
Meet the Builders Behind Grand Oaks
The Weseman family is proud to be natives to the Alachua county/North Central Florida area for over 150 years. Gary Weseman graduated from Auburn University from the School of Architecture with a degree in Building Construction. He started the family business in 1976 and has been developing affordable subdivisions and quality homes ever since. William and Michael are the next generation to take up the torch.
Michael Weseman, Master Builder
Michael Weseman is a master builder. From a young age, Michael knew what he wanted to do in life. He got his start in his father Gary Weseman’s trusted Gainesville building company, Weseman Builders, and has been working on homes ever since.
Michael studied Building Construction at Santa Fe College, but his most important training came from hands-on work. Learning alongside Gary, Michael has built and remodeled every facet of the modern home.
He founded Weseman Homes & Renovations to carry on the family tradition and break new ground in Gainesville. Michael’s firm is still small enough that he can keep up the hands on approach on which he has built his reputation.
“There is not one house or job that I do not have my hands on the majority of the work,” he told Giggle Magazine. That level of craftsmanship and attention to detail — from flawlessly sealed joints to top-of-the-line finishes — sets Weseman Homes & Renovations apart.
The quintessential American family man, Michael knows the pride one takes in home ownership. The father of three young children himself, he understands the excitement — and also the challenges — of making a haven for family life. He builds each home as if he was building it for his own family.
Wife and managing partner Lauren recalls the first home Michael built and sold. “It was for a young family that was so excited to start their lives in this home,” Lauren said. “I will remember him saying what an honor it was to think he played a part in this.”
